Fifth Wheel :A fifth wheel is a pressed steel coupling that connects a trucks trailer to the tractor unit. The fifth wheel's centre is designed to accept a trailer's kingpin which allows the trailer to pivot and turn. Manufacturers such as Scania offer heavy-duty Teflon coated fifth wheels that are self lubricated and cleaner to use.
